DRAFTspace COMPLETE PARTS Supports New Talents from The Fashion Institute of Technology
DRAFTspace COMPLETE PARTS spotlights some of the works of outstanding students from The Fashion Institute of Technology’s (FIT) Jewelry Design Department’s graduating class of 2015. A world-class institution, FIT continues to be a premier learning and training ground for design, fashion, art, communications, and business. Through its rigorous, unique, and adaptable academic programming, experiential learning opportunities, academic and industry partnerships, and commitment to research, innovation, and entrepreneurship, graduates step into their professions sufficiently prepared to innovate, build opportunities and even create lasting, global impact.
What began in the 1940s as a concerted effort to ensure enduring skills vital to the fashion industry developed gradually into a fully accredited college with authorized master’s programs tasked with fostering a broad range of creative and business disciplines, moving beyond traditional notions of fashion to include subjects like photography and advertising and interior design. Today, the campus encompasses an entire city block, and serves more than 10,000 students who come here from all over the world. The college offers degrees in diverse subjects, such as Menswear and Cosmetics and Fragrance Marketing, which are unique to the college, and Fashion Merchandising Management, Visual Presentation and Exhibition Design, and Toy Design, the first of their kind in the country. DRAFTspace COMPLETE PARTS takes pride in providing a platform for the next generation of talented jewelry designers from FIT.
